Default Cut-outs, how much of a difference?

I was thinking about getting some cut-outs before our track meet. I've still got the stock stall, would I shave a tenth or so off at the track with them?

Dyno run with cutout open lost a few hp/tq. Although the run was made directly after another 'closed' run w/no cooldown at all, and without the computer 'compensating' for the open exhaust (not sure there would be a difference anyways). I think its about even open vs closed in my case. I would probably lose hp/tq if I was n/a. Overall it loses alot of low end on the street. Sure does sound good though

i got a cutout sitting here and i am wondering what it is gonna do as well. everyone hopes that what they buy is gonna produce max hp/tq but i am skeptical of it. then again, i am running through the cats, single in pipe and a flowmaster. so hey, i might gain a horse. lol

get an electric cutout and open them up after you launch.

cutouts are awsome....but i had read all that stuff about guys losing time and hp and stuff, so i left mine open for two weeks before i went to the track to let the computer learn them.....i have dual cutouts and headers, and with just that(and a rear swaybar) i improved my e.t. 6 tenths.......

Mine wont open past 1700 RPM - would be cool to have a controller that progressively opened it though.

actually, it's a 98z28....my digital camera doesn't have the best mic in the world, so everything sounds like fuzz.....i got videos of it staging and wot at the track, but othe camera we were using didn't have a memory stick so it's just on video cassette and i haven't gotten it converted yet.....i'll try to get a clip soon.....
