Default To cut converters or not To?

Well this weekend i am going to be changing the muffler on my truck from a flowmaster 2 chamber to a dynomax bullet style. and while I am At the muffler shop i am thinking about getting the converters cut off to maximize the exaust flow. What should i do? leave the converters and just do the muff. OR cut the converters while im there? I do not have headers and dont plan on going supercharged or cammed so do i really need to cut them off? Im looking for tenths here not miracles so if theres any gain to be had i will do it. also is going from a single inlet dual outlet to a single in single out a good move or what. Truck is a 02 gmc 5.3 programmer, eletric fans, gears, thermostat,KN intake, slicks, and flowmaster exaust soon to be dynomax. Off topic here but how do get the list of my mods to come up when i make a post or a reply?

I hope you know the muffler guy good, because they usually won't cut the cats for just anyone because it is like a 5000 dollar fine or something. It really depends, it will be a LOT louder if you get them cut off, but I like loud so I might have it done someday. Looks like everyone is ditching the chambered mufflers, hopefully I will soon.
