Default Custom S/C intake

I was thinking that I could attach a 4' elbow to the end of the MAF. From there I could use maybe a 4' by 10' long tube to locate the air filter near the opening in the valance to draw in much cooler air and prevent the hot engine air from coming in. Id have to remove or modify the metal plate. What do you think?? Any other ideas?? I have to keep the intake free from engine heat b/c of detontation probs so I would need at the least some sort of heat shield. I dont know how I would make that or where to find it w/o a whole kit...

Try this link. It should give you a pretty good idea of what to do. I actually finished mine tonight. It is tight but it fits.
