Custom LS1Edit Tuning ROCKS !!!!
#1
I know I posted the other day in another thread about my tuning from Combination Motorsports but I now that I have had it a couple of days I just have to rave about it
Seth at CM changed the shift points to 5500, the shift firmness is up about 5% at part throttle and 10% at WOT, the timing was advanced all the way across the tables except for a couple of small areas, the fuel maps were pretty much left alone except in a couple of places were he actually richened it up a bit due to a lean situation at idle, the speed limiter was changed to 120 (it'll go higher once I get the higher-rated tires on), I am having a problem with false knock...I'm seeing about 6 degress of KR just after the 1-2 shift and at WOT in first above 4500 rpm...Seth kinda thinks it's a bad knock sensor so when I do the intake swap I'm gonna change the sensors out for new ones. Seth did the tuning under real-world conditions, first Atap'd it and did a preliminary tune, after that we drove around Vegas for a while while he Atap'd it again and then he did the final tune......all in all he spent over 2 hours doing the fine tuning and did a killer job
The power is WAY up at all rpm's and the drivability is so much better !!, the WOT 1-2 shift will bark the tires HARD every time and the 2-3 shift will bark them on smooth pavement, the truck will pull hills in OD that in the past it ALWAYS dropped in to 3rd to pull
once I get the LS1 intake installed I am going to go back and have the shift points raised higher to make better use of the upper RPM high velocity LS1 runners
If any of you guys have though about having your trucks tuned and weren't sure about the real world gains.....DO IT

Just for your info...the intake manifold bolts are different for the ls1 intake and the truck intake. They are also on national backorder.
are they on B/O from ARP as well ??....they are what I am going to use if they make them for that application
