Default A couple of exhuast ?'s

What is the difference between the 5.3L and 6.0L Corsa Catbacks?

What is the difference between the 5.3L and 6.0L Supermax Headers?

For those that have seen both:

Do you like the FLP Headers or the Supermax Headers most?

Do you like the Corsa Catback or B&B Catback most?

As you may have guessed, I am trying to decide what to get by the end of this month. I like the Corsa catback and will most likely go with it since I haven't looked much into the new B&B. As for headers, I have seen the FLP's on the F-bodies, but not their truck headers, and I have not seen the Supermax at all. In addition, I have a 5.3L now, and may end up installing a 6.0L in the coming year or so and do not want to have to buy new exhuast again if I do.

Thanks for any help you can give!

The FLP and Supermax headers for the trucks are the same headers made by Dynatech and from what all I have heard are quality pieces. As for the Corsa/B&B comparison, I have no expierence with either but both seem to be excelent catbacks.

I don't think there's any differences between the 5.3 and 6.0 headers and exhausts for gas engines. From another post I read, the stock headers are differnet. Round and rectangular ports. I don't know of any differences for any aftermarket ones. I just got ASM's or mine and they're supposed to fit the 4.8 and 6.0 too.

I know Tybrne has a recent post detailing new corsa systems for the 6.0 and 8.1. I think these are for the 6.0 duramax and 8.1 diesel.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmmm..after looking at things closer, there does appear to be a difference It must be the port dimension/shapes. Now, why are the ASM's universal?

I'm happy with my Corsa catback. Not loud at all until you get on it I thought about going with the B&B's since the pics show dual inlet/outlets for better flow when I get that SC, but the dual 3.5" serries tips on the corsa look damn sweet. Now what could be the difference in the 5.3 and 6.0 Catbacks? Different mounting schemes I bet.

I've heard the same thing that FLP and Supermaxx's are identical, just different distributers.

I believe most 6.0's have a 2 in 1 out stock muffler configuration. While a 4.8/5.3 has a 1 in 1 out configuration. I have heard a Corsa, and like it. Borla sounds good also IMO. I've never heard a B&B.

Makes sense. Basically, no exhaust mods are required for the cat back required if you're replacing a 5.3 with a 6.0l. Looks like ASM's are the way to go if you don't want to replace the headers when you do the swap. If you're interested here's some used ASM's for sale: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121927

What configuration is your truck? Reg Cab, Short Bed?

I've listened to the Corsa exhuast on the net from their website and liked it. I would like to get tbyrne in here to see if he can state any differences between the 6.0L and 5.3L headers from Supermaxx. I do recall the ASM to be for all engines, but I would prefer to go with the whole system like the supermaxx or FLP's. I don't think the 6.0L headers would be formed to match the exhuast ports, but the flanges may be cut to match. However, if the 5.3L flanges will still work on the 6.0L without creating any problems I'd be good to go.

I am assuming that between the 6.0 and 5.3 catbacks from corsa there is no difference since they both start at the y-pipe and run back, as long as the hangers match up. Now I just need to decide on the dual rear 3.5" tips or the side exit dual 4" tips from corsa. I'm thinking that if a drop was ever done the side exit would work better for clearance and possible appearance with a roll pan, plus its cheaper.
