They sell aftermarket screens to make money, jk
A screen from pace parts or gms is calibrated. Once you remove that screen, you mess with air flow readings and possible lean your a/f ratio. a calibrated maf takes into consideration.
a stock or lightly modded ls1 engine or truck will probably notice a decrease in performance.
if you're unsure, leave the screen on.
