Default Corsa Touring and Sport... Same size???

Hey guys,
I have the Corsa Touring exhaust system for my 06 crewcab 5.3. When i ordered it, i thought i was going to be getting the Sport system which is the one i wanted in the first place but i got the touring instead. Well, i was going to sell the whole system but i have just been offered a trade from a local guy. He has a 2 week old sport muffler and he wants the touring because he wants it to be a little quieter. Hes offering me his sport muffler and 60 bucks for my touring muffler which is new in the box like the rest of my exhaust system. Is that a good trade? Are both the touring and the sport mufflers the exact same dimensions and can they be swapped like that without any problems because i still want it to be a complete bolt on system?

Also, he has the 6.0L and i have the 5.3L. Is there any difference between the mufflers for the different motors?

And finally, which will sound better? Im planning to run LT's and O/R y-pipe in the future. LMK guys! I just wanna make sure the trade would be worth it. Im hoping someone knows about this and has the answers!!

The Corsa mufflers are going to be the same for these trucks. The differences are going to be in the baffles and packing materials used to make the touring muffler quieter than the Sport.
With the LT's and no cats, it will be loud and have a lot of rasp in the exhaust note. A lot of guys are using a resonator before the Corsa muffler to take out the rasp.

Alright, sounds good man. Thanks for the info. Well since it sounds like both of them will end up needing a resonator with the LT's and O/R y-pipe, i might as well get the sport so it can be louder until i get my LT's.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure they could be swapped straight out like that and that they were the exact same from the 6.0L and the 5.3L.

Yes there is a difference. They engineer every muffler to its specified application. The 6.0 tends to resonate and drone with different setups. Corsa built a muffler for that motor. They re-engineered the RSC baffles in the muffler. Although case size may be identical. Insides are different.

Are you sure? I was thinking and corsa catbacks were listed for the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 meaning they all had the same muffler but could be run on different applications.

Alright guys, im going to call corsa tomorrow to make sure but i checked their site and noticed the corsa exhausts will fit the 4.8 and the 5.3 but the 6.0 is in its own section which leads me to believe the mufflers are different. I guess ill find out for sure tomorrow...

They are different. The words came from the Corsa reps mouth at a vendor meeting.

As far as i knew, the only difference between teh 4.8/5.3 and the 6.0 setups is the Y-Pipes are totally different.

On my 6.0L setup, each pipe is separate until it reaches the muffler (on the stock one) Corsa supplied a stainless Y-tube that connected the two pipes into a single then went through the corsa muffler.

Hmm, i hope this isnt too confusing lol

The actual muffler should be the same. Maybe not exactly 100% in the inside, but the actual outside deminsions should be identical. The rest of the piping will be different though for different style trucks.
