Default Corsa Sport Catback Question--06 Silverado

I've got a bone stock 06 Silverado Z71 with the 5.3L engine. After doing quite a bit of research I have decided to go with the Corsa Sport Catback system with the single side exit (same as stock). My only hesitation is that I am concerned about the loss of low end torque especially since my truck has the crappy 3.42 gears that seem to be standard on the new trucks (I do occasionally tow a 5K lb. trailer). I called Corsa and they told me that I can expect an increase in torque/hp throughout the power band. However this doesn't square with just about everything I have read which says I will move the torque curve further up the power band by opening up the exhaust. Since I rarely push the truck above 3K RPM I don't see the benefit of gaining more peak torque/hp if that is indeed what will happen. I would love to hear from those that have the Corsa Sport system on a late model Chevy/GMC truck. Did you feel any "seat of the pants" difference compared to the stock exhaust? Does the truck feel more sluggish/the same/stronger off the line? Thanks in advance.

You could definately tell a seat of the pants difference from a stock system. This was in a suburban. It was stronger off the line and the throttle response was increased as well. Plus the sound is awesome!! The bigger gains will be at peak but don't worry...you will feel an all around gain.

Same here. More low and mid torque. Not sure if the upper rpm power was any different though. My truck is a 2005 VHO with the LQ9 6.0L engine.
You will get better throttle response as well. Sound is quiet until you go for a WOT throttle position. It gets pretty loud then, but it's quiet most of the time. No in cab drone or sound inside really.
It should suit you just fine.

I see most of mine mid range. no sound at all in the cab unless you stomp on it! very happy with it. Added the K&N series 63 intake, and that made a nice difference too! More tone, sounds good. Looking at doin some headers next then a tune.

Mine is the exact opposite. I feel that I lost a little bit of bottom end but gained a stronger midrange and a bunch of top end. Now once my truck hits 4K rpm it starts haulin major ***. But this might be due to the fact that I have a 3.42 gear and a 32" tall tire. But it sure sounds sweet as hell
