that was my point, like the rusted truck already had a source for the rust to start spreading to the piping

rust doesn't jump from the truck frame to the exhaust system, its not like an airborne virus.it may spread out from the original rust spot but in a patch. besides your exhaust is isolated from the frame by rubber hangers, rust doesn't like rubber.

Does that small muffler you have ahead of the Corsa quite it down any? I have been thinking about adding a small muffler ahead of mine.

Have a great day,

Don

That's crazy. Everyone knocks on Flowmaster, but my aluminized mild-steel cat-back has very little rust, about as much as the corsa. And it goes through Alaskan winters, where the roads are salted.

Your truck looks pretty cancer free for being in Minnesota.

Me being from the north east, ive seen every form of rust IMO, rust isnt caused by just cold wether and snow and water alone, the road salt exposure plays a HUGE role in the cause of rust

Salt is a major contributor to rust and corrosion.

Well, at least now I don't feel so bad about the rasp. I'll have to check mine out. It has 1 1/2 winters on it now with daily salt baths and thermal cycling(heated garage).
