Default connecting wideband to pcm

I searched the above title and didn't find what I wanted. I was wondering since I am maffless and I took out the drivers side o2 sensor to place the wideband there. I want to use the widedband to better control the AFR. The wideband isn't hooked up yet, waitin on a new sensor.

You just plug it in to the Gauge and tune your truck accordingly. Without front o2 sensors you'll probably have to load a custom OS and go Speed Density.
The PCM won't read your wideband and make automatic adjustments.

Edit: are you searching under the Tuning and Diagnostics? Because that's where this should be posted.
Also you may want to check HPT forums.

I did look in HPTuners on how to hook up the wideband to the serial interface.
I glanced at a few that said to use the EGR to read the AFR but skipped past it. Then just before going back here I read a thread about an "AEM wideband hook up". But I still don't understand why it works. I was hoping since the PCM cant read the maf and it's missing the one o2 sensor for info, the wideband'll give it guidance instead. I am in speed density already. I guess that since i'm running SD it makes doing teh above redundant and to just use the wideband for my own tuning corrections?

If you successfully got it hooked up to your HPT you should be able to do AUTOVE and just let HPT do all the work from there. All you have to do then is set your AFR values in the tune.
Outside of that the wideband just lets you monitor the AFR.
I'd wait for someone else to chime in tho, I'm not familiar with all the settings in HPT since I use EFI Live.

All I had to do is log some runs to get my VE table set right with the wideband hooked up to EFI Live. If the VE table is in check I just set my commanded AFR table where i want it to be and be done.

It's not hooked up yet, just in the middle of that and about a dozen other projects all half done. Our autove is "real time tuning" which I have yet to learn. I signed up for the tuning school course in toronto but it was cancelled so I ordered the learn at home, should be here in a couple weeks. I've been playing with this for the past few years more off than on so I have to re-learn it all over everytime.

Auto Tune as they call it.... is not functional in HPT yet.
