I believe Crane grinds Vinci's cams, but don't think you can get a Vinci cam through Crane...since it's Vinci's lobe design, you have to go through Vinci. Does that make sense?

Whats the design or purpose behind it? Only curious because I've heard the LS1 is intake limited, or it plays the part as the restriction.
Some VHP street / strip cams have as much as 6 to 8 degrees more exhaust duration than intake duration. The reason is, although cams with shorter exhaust duration can make more power than those with longer duration, the power band is very narrow, due to critcal exhaust tuning necessary to compliment the short duration. The wider exhaust duration allows for much easier and more accurate tuning, especially in today's computer controlled vehicles, and provides a more linear power band. Our exclusive accelerated lift technology with short seat to seat timing is our key to retaining high torque and horsepower. This translates into great drivability, which has been confirmed again and again on this forum. We have camshafts with just about any mixture of specifications any one could want. We simply suggest using the grinds we feel best suit the application, based on the serious, long hours of r&d testing we do on every grind. Roger.

Roger,

I still haven't grasped your logic on adding more exhaust duration to provide a fatter power band.

Few questions:

-How does more exhuast duration make tuning easier? I've always heard the other way around, where more exhaust duration causes more misfire codes.

-Again, if we are intake limited, why add more exhaust duration?

-Shouldn't the valve events match the head flow and the users requirments?

I'm just lost on most of your cam specs, where almost all favor 4* or more of exhaust duration. Hopefully, you don't take my questions the wrong way. I've heard of good results and am trying to figure it out.

BTW:
Would it be possible for you to list the valve events of say the asp kicker?

Thanks.
