Default collector question..

I have some pacesetter LT's and I have them clamped to the 3inch pipe..
seems that the clamps are leaking, and I need to find a diffrent way to seal them up..

my question is..
is anybody using a donut gasket setup, and if so how do they hold up???
I have seen a few other setups, and would like some info on others as well...

anybody?

I dont like donut gaskets personally since they are so prone to burning out... I have mine just all welded up right now until I can get them flanged... I havent decided what kind of leak resistant flange/seal I'm going to put on them...

V-bands are the best I've heard of.

I know I've seen V-bands before, but I can't find them now. You have a picture? Do they clamp over the two pipes when they butt together? What kind are you using Thunder? People talk about not sealing with clamps, but I don't know what syle clamp they are using, if they are talking about slipping the exhaust over the header collector and clamping that (like moregrip below) or just mating the two pipes and clamping like you show it.

Granted this isnt the collector connections... But i've had problems after initial installation of my Corsa exhaust with the clamps leaking before the muffler. Sure it didnt effect anything except excess noise.

But, taking everything apart, coating both sides of the connection with some Ultra-Copper RTV Sealant, and then reclaming everything sealed it up well. Infact when i installed my ASM Long Tubes last month, i didnt even screw around with the chance of leaking and used the RTV on the collector gasket and flange.
