Most all CAIs are pretty equal. I went with a MAC performance CAI because of the price. Chrome tube, nice fit, and under $200. Hard to beat.

Default Airaid 200-112

I tried a borrowed Airaid 200-112 against my drop-in K&N on my Radixed 5.3 and gained 15.7 HP. On a Dyno-Jet machine.
Non forced induction motors will gain less.

yeah i've got the AEM brute force too. I think they all work the same. Can't beat that 4" polished tube though.

I had the K&N FPIK and it worked well. Had to modify it to clear the 34" radiator and 05 efans. Now I have the Volant with ram air and it works just as well, didn't feel any difference either way.

Glad I'm not the only one to run into the K&N and 34" radiator dilema. How did you mod yours to fit?

I had to move my coolant resevoir as much as I could and squeeze the K&N in there, which messed up the angle into the TB. Just this last weekend I pulled the metal shroud, painted the inside of the fender from all the scratches it caused and just left the pipe and filter installed. Basically I'm in the market for another CAI. I'm thinking about going with the MAC intake or just doing a homemade one depending on what I can fab up for a shroud.

I cut slits in the top and bottom of the side of the shield that is next to the radiator, then shaped (bent) the shield to clear the radiator and trans cooler lines. I bolted the top bracket for the shield with the same bolt that holds the radiator in. When it was all done the intake tube was at a slightly different angle, but still bolted on tight. It worked out pretty well, but I decided to go with the Volant anyway...wanted to try something different and go for a slightly cleaner look. I'll probably be selling my "modified" K&N with a spare filter as soon as I can get some pics.
