Hey, I went to GM dealership after work. I talked to service dept. The guy seem cool to me. He would do everything to inspection. Somehow he told me will be charge to use GM tech2 Scan. I say sure. SOMEHOW they found I had P0449 and P0442 when I used my scantool to clear the code. And it does show on GM SCAn history with codes. I was suprised it would show them! It been 458 mileagse with those. IT was code become freeze. SO they reset and clear the code. It is all done. Somehow they decide not charge me! It is free! Which is good news. BUT they say if my truck ever come back with light on again. Bring it back to them and they would run SMOG tester with machine things. It would be 92 dollars. Wait and see whats up later. I will keep post with you.

I just got the 0449 code and seems like the op went threw hell and did everything to fix it and it still was throwing the code. What a mess. I think I'll try the wire connections and fittings and if it clears. If it still comes on I'll tune it out.

With it tuned out will the code still be there just no engine light? Only reason I care is that my remote start doesn't work when a engine light is on.

Can someone tell me how to tune it out w hp tuners?

So I did a lot of searching and found out that there are a couple easy checks before buying anything. First check power at the plug. Mine was good. I plugged it back in and the solenoid did not open. I tapped it w the back of the screw driver and nothing.

Mine has the oem hose going up to the trans tunnel already. So I will be replacing that solenoid by the tank and the box filter above the trans.

Napa had the parts together in stock for 87 but I found it on Amazon for 68 and free shipping. 214-2149 acdelco is what it is. I'll replace it and update the thread.

My ac delko part came in from amazon and was exactly what I pulled off.

My 09 already had a flex hose running from solenoid valve to the Trans tunnel so I clipped the stock plastic hose and replaced both parts. I did have to use a 10 inch section of 5/8 to connect the valve to the gas tank.

Light has been off since and it's been a few days and about 200 miles.

I have the same pesky p0455 code so yes, I replaced the gas cap and no, that was't the issue. Needed to be replaced anyway.....

I have Youtube'd and searched here and all over the interweb to find the location of my vapor vent valve solenoid and looked under the truck at the gas tank at the filler neck and hoses...Nothing..All I see under my HD is the valve for the brakes near the tank and filler neck....

I am very adept at search, and look and see but does anyone have a pix of where this solenoid is actually? It's a classic body style so maybe thats what the difference in location is...

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.....
Joe.....
