Default Code P0332

My brother's 2000 6.0 liter is showing this code P0332 ( low circuit input from knock sensor 2), will this affect WOT timing? He is only seeing between 13 and 15 degree's advance during WOT, his performance has really gone to hell lately. I'm hoping that when I change the knock sensor he will get back the pep the engine use to have.

His scan tool only reads the timing, does not show KR.

there is a service bulletin to replaced the knock sensor for water intrusion, it corrodes it and mnakes it read false, you are also supposed to build a little wall of silicone around the rubber grommet thats there so water doesnt get in.

Changed the knock senorsand wire harness. They were so corroded that they ruined the wire harness that connects to them. Truck feels like it runs better than the day he got it. It's now showing 22 - 24 degrees of timing at WOT.
