My throttlebody has been sticking alot lately, so I decided to pull it off and clean it up real good. It wasn't dirty on the front at all. When I got it off, it was very dirty. I'm talking thick gunky crap. I cleaned it really carefully with some degreaser and it looks pretty freakin' clean now. Futral ported it last year and it really looks cool now.
While I had the tb off, I kept seeing that stupid EGR tube right in the way off the airflow in the intake manifold. I didn't have a dremel saw or anything like that. After about 30 min or so of trying every little hand saw I had, I got some regular pliers and kept mashing all around it. I was careful not to flatten it though. Then I got some cutting pliers/wire cutters and cut all the way around it.
Once I had cut the tube off, I had to try to put the EGR piping back up to the intake manifold. This was a **** to put back. I must have spent 15 or 20 min messing with it until I got it back on.
After I got everything back on and connected, I took it for a quick drive. The truck seemed to have gained a little bit of power and was much more responsive. I know the EGR mod itself doesn't give but like 3-5rwhp, if that. But, I think the gain I felt was a mixture of the 2 things.
