ok so i want to help my friend out. he has a '04 z71 ECSB, we are goin to try this on his. we dont want to buy any after market stuff just 'free mods'
i found this on www.sshotrods.com how would one go about mounting the air box lid like this?

That looks like ***. It looks like they just cut off the silencer tube and taped the hole shut then rotated the box 90* off. You can make a better looking and working intake with parts found in the plumbing section of your favorite hardware store.

That looks very fimiliar. My buddy had the same set up and it even has a TB spacer. Wonder if thats a pic of his truck. John if you see and read this post is this your truck?

The intake I made from plumbing cost me about $60.oo (including the gigantic k&n) and it look good.

sorry guys i should have clarified it. how would i go about turning the airbox and keeping it like that? make some tabs for the screws to hold the filter in?

Self tapping screws into the radiator support through the holes that are already in the lid where the old screws attached to the bottom of the box.
