Default Cheap CAI for trucks 99-06

Intake from Latemodelrestoration.com. It wont work with the factory box... filter has like a 6" inlet!!! Here are some pics of how much I cut off the pipe.. I positioned the hoses and clamps just right and now the intake fits perfect. Now it is really worth the $89.90 shipped to florida. And at the track today hit 14.82 at 93 with it so it works!!!!! Here are my pics after I modified it. You can see how much I cut off , still gonna add some weatherstripping to seal off the hood. GO GATORS!!!

I'd buy it if it wasn't for the metal pipe.

Another thing is I really haven't seen the gains to justify a CAI. I think I can get the same results putting in a high flow air filter and a pvc tube.

I have the K&N replacement filter and I modded the stock airbox and there is a little difference in the way it feels but it sounds totally different. A lot deeper and a little louder. I really like it now!!

and last time I went to the track I ran 15.16 this time I ran several 14.8's All I've done since then is spark plugs ( had new double platinum's ) and added a magnaflow muffler so that prolly hurt it a little... Had straight pipes before.
