Default Ceramic Coating/High Temp Paint ?

Just wondering, can ceramic coating be touched up? or can it be painted over with a high temp paint? just curious.

i bought some used with ceramic coated jba shorties for my daily driver and they had surface corrosion. i lightly sanded them just enough to knock off the surface corrosion. i then used some silver high heat paint to recoat them. i read the instructions on back of the paint can and put them in the home oven as instructed. they came out looking like new and are holding up. to think i paid 65 shipped for them and like 7 for paint... i figured what i got to lose....

No they aren't dirty. I plan on cutting off the egr/air tubes and was thinking if a high temp header paint would stick to the coating. there is also some surface rust around the collector. I was thinking the ceramic that is on there would help keep the paint fron burning off. Just looking into alternatives to having them recoated.

My local powerdercoating guy says that they will clean up with Mother's aluminum polish. Maybe a little steel-wool first, depending on how bad they are. Might be worth trying.

I'm not trying to clean them up. I am going to be cutting off the EGR port because it's damaged.
