Default catch can routing

I know theirs tons of info on this but everytime I search I find a different setup, my question is which side do you put your catch can at.. as in installed the can between the throttle body and the line going to the passenger side valve cover or in between the pcv valve in the back of the driver side valve cover the the top of the intake manifold? I am using a mike Norris catch can. Engine is an 03 lq4 that will have a cam swap done in a few weeks.

Okay cool that's what I was thinking would be best. Which port on the can in "inlet" and "outlet" I suppose you would call it. I saw people hooking it up as the port on the side is the outlet (to intake from can) and the one on top is the inlet (to catch can from pcv) is this correct or do I have it backwards?

Went ahead and threw it in real quick at work. I was gonna mount it on the driver side firewall by the hydro boost unit but I liked it here better.

I have this as well.

I also have an oil consumption issue(217K so duh!)and this has slowed it a little. A mod sent me a possible fix(ls1 to ls6 conversion), unfortunately my builder doesn't think it would be worth he cost(since I'm not a mechanic).

I think(as does my builder)the pcv is an issue with the ls1 motor.
