Default catch can location

Im thinking im gonna get a catch can to help keep the oil out of the intake, and i know how to route it. but my question is does the length of the hose affect it effectiveness so to speak. I know there should be vacuum throughout, im thinking i might mount it in the corner near one of the fender braces and that would be some long hoses overall, any problems??

I mounted mine under the wiper cowl against the firewall. Seems to work fine. My blower is clean inside and I collect a small amount of oil. In the winter it gets alot of moisture in it. I bet each of the hoses off it are a foot long.
