Some people will swear up and down it has to be baffled, or cheered or have the shavings or whatever... I ran a air/water sererator for an air compressor in my 2001 for ~150,000 miles and it worked perfectly. It was one from harbor freight, cost about $8 and did it's job flawlessly.

I just put a $20 one from amazon on my 2014 last week and expect it will do just fine an dandy
