Default Catback system + Loss of Power?

I've read several threads and posts in the last few days about exhaust mods that have caused power losses.

I thought I was cracking up after having mine done. Response is lousy, almost a hesitation. Sluggish when I crack it. Sounds good, but I expected an improved throttle response. I got just the opposite.

Exhaust Pro's......help!!

What did I do, or didn't do??

Thanks for the input

those symptoms sound normal to me. anytime you put a free flowing exhaust on, you lose back pressure. you will probably notice your truck having less low end torque and acceleration. but on the contrary, you will feel a more SOTP difference top end. it is the higher RPM band where you will get more of your HP after adding air intake and exhaust. for example, i used to be able to break my tires loose from a complete stop when my truck was stock. as soon as i put on exhaust and intake, it was impossible for me to do that. but i could break them loose on the fly, especially when the rpm's were around the 4500-5500 range. this is why i installed a TC, to get that HP and torque back when i am at a complete stop. from a complete stop my rpm's jump to 3000 where more of the HP is
