Default catback or just muffler?

I'll be getting my 4.8L next week and will be dumping the exhuast no matter what and wanted to know wether it would be useless to get a cat-back since im dumping it and if so, should I just go with a muffler since i'll be dumping it? I'm looking for something real loud that sounds great and grunts real nice. Leave your comments on what you recommend and links to where I can buy.

Thanks

Muffler you queer!!! No need to spend hundreds of dollars on a catback if ur gunna cut the pipes, just get a hooker or a dynomax, I like the sound of dynomax dumped better though, when I had my hooker, it was raspy as hell dumped before the axle, I say dynomax

I know everyone hates them but you can't beat the sound of a flowmaster. Why does everyone bag on them am i missing something? I have just a 40 series with no dump, just exits out the muffler. Sounds awesome and is way louder than any cat back. When you are slowing down it rumbles which i don't hear much. But it rattles everything in the cab, and makes that monotone hum about 60 that sucks.

I've got a Flowmaster dumped. Just get the muffler. You'll save hundreds. Mine's dumped before the rear axle/right after it exits the muffler. It is loud. Since it's dumped underneath the bed of the truck, there's more reverberation. All I've ever had were flowmasters, so I can't say what's what... I like them, never had a problem with them.

Cheap = muffler

Expensive = catback

Its all in what you wanna spend. You will get a better quality and probably better performance from a nice catback system but a muffler will work if you dont wanna spend the $$$.
