What happened to the motor to cause it to knock?

Im waiting for that answer. I went out for a little drive a few nights ago and got on it and at WOT when it shifted into 3rd(6k+rpms) it started knocking like a bitch. The higher the rpms the faster the knock. Get a quarter and knock on a wooden desk with it and we will say that times 4 or 5 and that is what I got.

just out of curiousity tigerfan.......how long did that LS1 sit before you bought it? was it in an engine back or just in the box you pictured it in? it looked like it was stored with the oil pan off of it also.

He has been really really busy this week and I know he has to of been because in the past he had answer within a dayand a half. He is in the process of taking a part the block and he has a good feeling that it is a spun bearing. There was no metal shavings when the oil was drained and that is obviously good. Hopefully meaning that the crank can just be polished. Its a **** deal but it looks like I might get out of this for a somewhat cheaper than I thought! Ill keep you posted!
