Default can you guys please help me out with this.

my friends dad has an 02 sierra denali. the kid has been argueing with me for months that it has the ls2 engine in it. "the mechanic said its the same engine as the new corvette". the only LS block ive ever heard of being factory dropped into something remotely being a truck was the chevy ssr, and that didnt come out til 04. first off, the ls2 wasnt even out in 2002, secondly the denali has the vortec 6000 in it. can you guys just post back so i can win the $100 i bet this kid that the truck does not have an ls2 in. thanks alot.

Correct. It's not an LS2 unless someone did and aftermarket motor swap.

Go get your $100. Not an LS2. Does the throttle body have 3 or 4 bolt holes. There is a difference between the LS1 and LS2.

Not an LS2. The mechanic might be thinking the same displacement because they are both 6.0's and have the same cubes. You are right the LS2 was intoduced in the new C6 vette and in the 05ssr,05GTO and the coming of the SS Trailbalzer. The 04 SSR still had the 5.3 with 300HP
