Default Can injectors fail?

This morning no the way to work my truck started running on 7 cylinders basically. One wasn't getting any fuel. I got the infamous P0200 code letting me know it was an injector failure. Well I've had this problem in the past when I first wired up my 28# injectors and installed them. From either a wire coming loose or a small leak. I just checked all the wiring and it's tight as can be. I haven't started it to check for leaks but I figured if there was one this morning then the area around the fuel rails wouldnt still be covered in dust, they would be cleaner from the fuel getting on them. So my question is can injectors crap out and actually fail on you?

Yes, my dad had the same thing happen on his Tahoe. They replaced the injector and everything went back to normal.
