I have a lightly burned 01 LS1 that is basically a long block. I also have an 01 or 02 5.3 complete with wiring, intake, etc. Can I use the 5.3 manifolds, sensors, etc on the LS1 block and heads? (like replacing a 5.3 long block with a LS1 block and heads)
Will it make decent power? This is getting swapped into something else. Hopefully this is the right forum.

yes it will bolt right up. if u use you 5.3 heads on the 5.7 you will get more compression to.

 

Sweet! I think the 5.3 heads are ok. Do they fllow well?

 

What are you putting this mongrel engine into? I heard that the truck intake is taller so if you plan to transplant this engine into a tight compartment, you may want to take measurements before you get too far into this.
