For what its Worth, Lingenfelter runs LS6 springs with the GT2-3 which has slightly higher lift than the hilift 212/218.

and if im not mistaken those cams are spec'd for supercharger's, etc... in other words for boosted vehicles and the ls6 springs come with them, I dont see why it would hurt it... IMO

What's the lift on that cam?

Any more input on this? I'm considering ordering parts tonight or in the morning.

I was bidding on a used Crane "Z" cam (216/224, @.551 @ 115LSA) on ebay but it went way too close to a new price. I'm still strongly leaning toward a 212/218 high lift Comp.

think about it fellas LS6 springs are designed to run in a factory vette with a cam that has .551 lift. GM is putting those springs in and expecting them to last 100k miles.

If you are running a cam that has a low enough lift, I'd go with OEM springs over 918's ANY day. If you're worried about how much lift they can handle they can safely do .570 and there are PLENTY of guys(GTO guys specifically) that run .600 and more on stock ls6/ls2 springs.

That's good to hear. I know that the ramps on the cam that I want to run are pretty steep but I'm not talking about pushing them to .580 and I dont figure that I'll ever trun it above 6400 rpm.

Even shifting at 6400, it will keep tons more boost in the motor than I have now shifting at 5950. The more I spin the blower, the more it likes it.

There's plenty of stock vette guys spinning over 6k rpms on stock springs with an 02-03 ls6 cam(the one with .550 lift)

That cam only has a intake duration of 204 (I think), so doesn't that mean that it would have to have pretty steep ramps to get to the .551 lift?
