aright cool, now my goal for this truck would be at at 330. ive been looking around at cams and saw that an ls6 cam is a good budget cam will that work? also is there any other budget stock heads that will work better than the current ones im a college student at the moment which is why im trying to build this slowly with the best deals i can

799-243 heads are the next step up. Possibly have them milled some to up compression( prob 100ish$) at a shop. The LS6 cam is cheap, will help bump the hp. But for another 110$ or so you could by a off the shelf aftermarket cam, but keep in mind alot of them require a bigger converter. I wouldn't run a cam with a duration any more then 212 on a stock converter. If your looking for that power, you better start saving for at the min a trans cooler, good shift kit.

I would do a different cam for a 'hoe. I don't recall that it really hit until 3800 or so in my stock ZO6 Vette.

I would go 212/218 its a proven no stall cam. You will make plenty of low end torque with some screaming up top power. With a tb stall it will be that much better.

im still trying to figure out how to read cam specs jaja but i have been told alot that a 212/218 cam would work great..would that cam require new valve springs and push rods?

Any time your going with a more aggressive cam its a good idea to do the springs and rods. LS6 springs and some used PR's would work fine.
