Default Can a 370 make 450+ RWHP??

Surely it can but what would it take? If you take an iron 6.0 block, 3.62" crank, 4.030" pistons and 6.100" rods for the shortblock, what heads, cam and other valvetrain would it take to make 450+rwhp? I plan on using all the bolt-ons I have below (truck), rebuilding my 4l60 and maybe something like a 3000-3200 stall. I don't mind, actually I like a little lope but it needs to be just tame enough to be my daily driver, with some tuning of course. Please help and please be as detailed and complete as possible. Thanks in advance.

If you want that much rwhp, then say good bye to the 4l60 and get a 4l80 especially if you are rebuilding the tranny that you have. Good Luck.

It is not a very realistic goal to get 450+ N/a out of a mild 370. You should probably expect some where close to 420RWHP.

450rw with a set of well build stage 3 heads and a huge cam, and great tune would do it, but then you will need to upgrade the fuel system and definantly intake and exhaust. But sure it can be done. There are plenty of 5.7's out there hitting those numbers. But like Blacksheep says, it would have to be wild, not mild.

Your asking for 1.4+ HP per cube n/a. A big displacement motor and a high hp to cube ratio does not = easy streetability.

Its gonna have to be high revving (probobly to 6500 rpms), have a mama jama size cam, awesome awesome heads, and has got to breathe well both ways.

Good luck!

It's very possible, if your pocket book feels really heavy!!! J/K On a more serious note go carb and your DD will be in the 550-600rwhp range for the same cost, J/K Good luck with your build!
