Fruk....did you just tear into this without even a manual, looking at a write up or anything?

Depending on how far the timing was off expect to find this.

compression will suck on that cylinder, and it will run like crap

the above case would have been fairly obvious when you tried to start it so i doubt that happend...or if it did youll know it as soon as the first combustion even happens.

Pull the heads off...or take all the rockers off and pump compressed air into each cylinder, if you have air leaking into the intake or exhaust you have bent valves.

Yea it's a big deal if you don't go dot to dot. There are quite a few things that could make contact with each other internally.

Did you not turn over the vehicle by hand a couple times? Take everything apart, line up the dots properly, turn the engine over by hand (take plugs out) and listen to any "abnormal" noises. This is a quick way, but not the most efficient. Also check compression on each cylinder with plugs out.

I looked at the write up on ls1howto.. but I think the timing migjt be off a tooth or two.. I lined it up as much as possible, but not exactly.. I doubt I bent a valve.. I'm sure you would be able to hear something if I did.. if all went to ****, I'm getting my tax return soon.. hello 6.0....

If it was off by a tooth or two it should have still started. If it didn't sound like a mess cranking up you should be fine, just double check it before putting it together. Just hope your not thinking the cam dowel is what you should be lining the crank up with.

Cam sleek is the fourth hole on the sprocket.. the dot is near the edge with the teeth.. it smelt like gas when I cranked it.. that's the only abnormal thing I could find
