well I think I have y'all beat as far as percentages. So far I am 0 for 1 on successful engine projects so I'm batting .000. My truck is the one in question for this thread. I am really hoping it is something simple like a gasket leaking, but unfortunately I guess I gotta prepare for the worst.

Beau may have me beat for last couple of months but I think overall my luck isnt that great lol. I did the swap just like I have done before, the only thing I can think of is teh intake was really dirty and maybe an excess amount got knocked into the engine or something and spun teh bearing, there isnt any gaskets that could cause this besides the cam retainer plate. We are going to tear it down again tomorrow and if I dont see anything that could cause this problem I will be pulling the motor.

sounds like the pressure relieve valve in the oil pump is stuck. happened to me a couple of years ago on my first cam swap. probably need to put a new oil pump and o ring on it anyway with that many miles while your in there for added insurance.

Well we didn't change the oil pump or timing chain so that's why Cody and I are doubtful it's that. We are a little worried that some dirt somehow got internally into the engine, but there's no way of knowing until it's torn down I guess.

P.S.-This is RandomHero on Cody's name
