Getting ready for a cam swap. Planning changing cam, rods, springs. Has anyone or should I replace the lifters also? I have had mixed opinions on this, some say yes replace, and some so no need to. Im just thinking of the current wear that is on them from the stock cam.

I would say if you are anywhere under 100,000 miles i wouldnt mess with it cuz its too much work involved. These are roller tappet lifters in these motors. This means that the lifter does not have to mate up to the lobe like the traditional flat tappet cams in small blocks. There is virtually zero friction between the lifter and the cam lobe so unless you are running with a ton of miles, like i said, just leave it alone.
Check this site out, itll help you a lot with the swap. I used this site and the swap went very well.

I wouldn't replace them if they had 200k miles on them, unless I had the heads off. You don't want to pull the heads to just change lifters. Been there, done that.

I abselutely will swear by my nelson tune. Free updates for life! You will like the things he can do. Dont screw with a dyno tune. I am gonna get him to do a ride in tune and its way better (from what i understand) than a dyno tune.

I have a Nelson tune and I like it fine BUT..... If I could get a dyno tune that would be much better. There's just none available around these parts. A dyno tune is more accurate and custom done to what your engine likes. MUCH better than a mail order tune even though Nelson does a great job... for a mail order tune.
