Default cam ?'s

My truck is a 1999 5.3 Z71 with a FIPK,Edelbrock shorty headers,Corsa cat back and a Westers 91/93 Hot tune.I've read a lot of threads on cams but need some advice on which cam to pick.I know that I'm looking for a very streetable cam that makes more HP from mid to high RPM [2500-5800] over the stock cam.My truck has 100,000 miles on it so I think these are the things I will need to do this, correct me if I'm wrong[springs 918's,push rods, cam and timing chain].Where are some good places to get these parts? Thanks for any suggestions.

You can get any of the parts at almost all of the sponsors, I happen to like TSP. I have heard of the 212/218 114LSA cam making good power for the trucks. You could even get a custom cam ground, just call up TSP with your car info and they can build you a cam.

Would a XR265HR 212/218 .558/.563 114LSA really make much of a difference in performance [seat of the pants dyno]to warrant a swap? Also would this work well with a stock converter?

I have a similar cam, but the low lift version. Yes, once tuned you will feel a big difference. Especially from 2500 rpms and up on your 5.3L.

212/218 is a good one...no need for 918's though...ls6 springs will be fine.

There are literally hundreds of cams that would be good for you but in the end it is all about personal preference. That cam would probably do what you want it to do...
