Joey, welcome to the site. You can find out anything you want to know about these LS based motors on this site. Let us know what your goals are, and we can help a lot more. Are you wanting a very streetable daily driver with no converter, or a all out street racer that barely idles? The details about your truck are nice, but we need to know your goals too in order to help. Or you cn just buy my cam. Its for sale

Are you willing/planning to replace the torque converter also? If you get too aggressive with the cam, a new TC might be necessary. The same thing applies to the tuning of the computer. Go too aggressive on the cam and you'll need tuning. Your hand-held programmer might be able to handle that...I don't know.

Check out THE truck cam thread on this site. It'll give you way more information than you'll need, but it'll help you understand how to select a cam also.

Good luck!

don't waste your money on a hand held programer either send it off to `wait for me tune or nelson. or you can read learn and figure out how to tune your self and go with like hpt. IMHO

never mind just read your sig i see you already have the predator. try some of the sponsers for cams

Welcome Joey, The very first thing you want to do is get a new 02 pcm, the 99s had a bunch of KR and timing issues. That will help it out alot. Be sure to get it tuned by any of the reputable tuners, wait4me is the one i went with and its great. I have the 99 4.8 and im looking into getting a cam myself. Sooner or later 01thunder will chime in his 4.8 is runnign 13s. scroll down the page and youll see a thread about 99 4.8 and hitting 14s that has good info. Good luck,
Mark

deffinatly(sp) (sorry long night at work been here since 10PM last night, and dont get off untill 5PM this afternoon )need more info as to where you are wanting to go with the truck..
as far as the PCM goes... I agree about upgrading to an 02 PCM..
there are several cams to chose from for your motor..
you can go mild with vette cam, or go wild and get it on a 110-112 LSA
just remmember the biggest lift you can go with safely with piston to valve clearance is .600..
let us know what your intensions are and someone here can help you out ...
Daniel

my truck is a daily driver. Just want more power for play. We have seasonal truck pulls and it doesnt hurt to line up with some 5.3 & 6.0's at stop lights. So if that helps. I'd like some recommendations on a cam setup. thanks, Joey

Hmmm
maybe a 212/218???? on a 115LSA???

nice gains from this cam and the one close to it...may need some tuning
check out the cam thread
look for that cam and the ones listed by it..
it will give you a heads up as to what will be required to use it.
