Which cam for my LS1 set-up...220/220 or 224/224?
I just got another part-time job today, I start next week. So it looks like my LS1 build-up will be starting here shortly.
I told Allen Futral in an e-mail that I wanted a cam for my LS1 that would sound good and had some low-end and a bunch of mid and top-end torque and horsepower. I also told him that I wanted to get my spare set of 5.3 heads worked on by Absolute Speed (stage 2). I had also mentioned that I wanted to shift around 6200-6300 rpms.
He said to go with either a 220/220 or 224/224 on a 112 LSA. He said that these would work best with a 3000 stall and that there would be plenty of midrange torque and a strong pull to 6300 rpms.
Which one of these cams would ya'll go with? Both of these are FMS cams, I think the lift is somewhere around .57x-.58x. I know FMS cams are some of the best cams out there! I'm really leaning towards the 220 when I think of the torque and the 224 when I think about top-end...
Is there really that much difference between the two? What do ya'll think? Oh yeah, I'll also be running either 3.90's or 4.10's by then, along with a 2600-3000 stall.

Whats up Richard? Would you be interested in a T1 cam? Its ground by comp and has a 221 duration and 558 lift on a 112 lobe serpation.
