Default Which cam for LS1 383?

Here are my final three:

-226/230-113
-228/230-113
-230/232-113

Other mods are:
-Truck Intake Manifold
-Patriot Performance Stage 2 5.3 Heads
-Scat I-Beams
-Mahle Pistons
-Eagle 4.000" Crank
-Full/Current Bolt-ons
-Dyno-Tune
-2600 Yank Converter

My goal is to make at least ~410rwhp/425rwtq and run 12s w/ slicks. What do ya'll think? I know the f13 makes monster tq in stock cube LS1s, I just want plenty of off-idle torque.

I would stay in the 230+ range for the duration and maybe look at a bigger LSA ( 115 )for the low end grunt, especially if you plan to go F/I later. Increase the lift to get the top end back.
The 01' Z06 cam I installed in the iron 383 would fry the 265 BFG's from a standstill. This was no small feat considering the high altitude ( 5300ft ) and car cam.

I'd go a little bigger to be honest. Maybe MS3 or 233/239 113.

What;s that come out to, abotu 390 ?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna go with a Comp XER 230/232-113+2. What do ya'll think the hp will peak at? I want good power at least until about 6100-6300 and a nice lope.

sounds like a good selection of cams you have in mind. might want to look at swapping out that truck intake to a ls6 or similar one to help that cam breath up top.

I don't think you'll get much lope with that cam. Remember the cubes eat up a lot of the duration -- that's not really a big cam for a 383 and the lsa is a tiny bit wide for much lope.

If you're staying NA, I'd go to at least the size Flyer recommended and maybe go to a 111 or 110 lsa for lope and more overlap.

bigger doesn't always mean better. your combination has to be matched for it to work.
