Default Cam install how much

Ok I am working on buying a cam from hitman. need to know how much it cost to install one of these. I do not have the resources to even try this. I know my truck is a 04 that's why I want to keep it pretty stock internally. How many hours atleast would help. thanks

I got my cam installed in exactly 3 hrs and 20 min and paid $350. BTW, this was in San Antonio. Labor rates might be different from one place to another.

I've seen the prices go from 300 all the way up to 600 or so. Just make sure they know what they are doing.

I would definately look for someone that specializes in the LS1 rather than someone that plans to use the GM Flat Rate manual. The LS1 does NOT require removal of the heads or intake manifold for a cam install so this reduces the work time considerably over other engines. Be sure they use some method to hold the lifters up(JPR tool, magnets, dowel rod) while the old cam is being swapped for the new one. If a lifter drops the heads WILL have to come off and then your looking at a lot more time. You should do this job yourself. You can put the money you save in labor into a Rollmaster double adjustable timing set and a ported LS6 oil pump and stil have money left over.
