Default Cam install help

Ok guys, i'm in the process of ordering parts for my cam install. i have searched but couldn't find exactly what i am looking for. I have a few questions on parts for install and doing it the right way. I have purchased a DOD delete kit along with comps Trunion kit and LS6 valve springs. I have a LMG 5.3 with 243 heads.

1. I was told i do not have VVT, so i wanted to purchase a Comp Cams 3 bolt cam along with a LS2 timing chain and 12586481 cam sprocket. Will that work or do i need a single bolt cam with a different timing set.

2. I have 114,000 miles on my truck. Is it recommended to changed the oil pump since i am in there, and will a stock oil pump be fine.

3. I am going to purchase comp cams hardened push rods also, what length should i be running. I've been told 7.400" but no concrete answer.

Thanks for the help guys.

It shouldnt have VVT, that was like late 2009+ stuff.

The 3 bolt cam should work, get the cover, gear, chain etc.

I don't see a reason to change the pump, kinda one of those if it's not broke don't fix it type of things. I mean you can if you wish but I wouldn't. Not that I'm cheap but they normally just don't give out, the o-ring on the pickup tube it more likely to be the issue. Or a rare case the relief valve gets stuck open.

As for anything else, I'm not smart enough to know the push rod answers.

The cam and chain should work fine.

The oil pump would be a personal call. You will have to remove it to swap the chain out anyways. If you think it will hold up for the long haul, then I'd say save the money to spend elsewhere. But change out the pickup tube o-ring as a minimum.
As far as pushrods go, if you are not milling the heads down a lot to gain compression, then stock length (7.40)"should" be fine. But the safer route would be to use a pushrod length checker to verify the proper length. Summit sells one for about $20 from comp cams part number 7702-1. Cheap insurance versus all the time going into the project.

Are you using new lifters and trays too?

Thanks for the input guys. Yes. All new lifters, trays, valley cover and what not that come in the dod delete kit from tsp. I also ordered all other gaskets that i may need that didnt come in the kit. I will definitely be picking up a new o-ring for the pickup tube. I ordered the 7.400 push rods along with the tool to check.

To do oil pump the oil pan I pretty sure must remove it.
