That is fine. I just would hate to see you spend all this time and money on a cam that will do nothing for you.

I am hoping this cam is better than a stock one. I dont think my stock duration is anywhere close to 205/212. I have a 20k mile Silver that I would just like a bit more power. I am just looking for atleast 5.3L power out of my 4.8L. I think I am $350 into the cam install. I was told by the several people on here that the cam should give me noticeable power gains. Judging by your picture under your title you are one hard core racing guy huh?

Will I need to disconnect the A/C and remove the Condensor before I can get the cam out/in?

The Ac you just unbolt the condensor and lift it to the side. That is were a friend comes in. You leave everything conected to the condensor( i.e ac lines)

1badGMC, Did you notice a relatively good gain with the fan install? I looking into it but wasnt sure it was worth it or not. Especially when norcal sees temps over a 105 in the summer. Also do you need a tune with the 212 cam?

gao8302 Thanks for the info. I would hate to reclaim the refrigerant then have to charge it again. The less systems messed with the better.

If you're going to use the compressed air method be sure to get each piston to BDC or TDC first and don't go crazy with the air pressure. If you don't do this and the spark plugs are all out which they probably will be the compressed air will spin the crank which can get ugly if you have a long breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt to get the piston into position.

ellanboggs What kind of pressure would be advised? I am planning to use the spark plug air pressure adapter. I am thinking TDC would be the prefered method, but dont want to force the piston down with the air pressure. The TDC would also be a back up just in case my compressor isnt big enough to handle the constant pressure release.
