Cam help
#11
One of those too good to be true moments huh?? I'm looking for a mild cam not too extreme. Just something with a good hp gain, can use nitrous, stock tc and a nice lope of course. Don't mind if I have to change springs but not looking to invest too much in the 5.3 since I just purchased a used lq4 and am planning a 408 build and go all out.

Different people will give you different answers. The LS6 "yellow" springs are good to .570, the older LS6 springs from 2001 are good to .529, I think the new LS6 springs are blue and they're also good to .570 IIRC.
In 2001 the LS6 had a lower lift cam 207/217 .525/.525
In 2002 they went with a higher lift cam 204/218 .551/.547
If you went with the low lift version of the cam, you shouldn't have a problem with any of them.

Way to big for a 5.3. But would be nice in a 408. Not sure if stock heads will flow what that thing is capable of. You will need a 3600 up converter for that to get the most from it..
