Default Cam help!--2006 vortecmax 6.0 (lq9)

Need some expert help on what cam to go with! I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 6.0 lq9 with the 4l70e tranny and 4.10 gears. Only mods so far are shorty headers, cold air intake, magnaflow dual exhaust cats still on, and superchips which will be swapped for a custom tune thru hptuners. I'm looking for a setup that is reliable and could still be a daily driver if wanted to be. I want a well rounded setup that helps with all around in the Rpms and a better sound at idle, open to the idea of a stall also. Would like to keep mods under $1700. Open to all opinions and any help!

The $1700 is for parts only I have help on the labor and tuning side of things.

longtubes, stall, cam, and springs is definitely do-able under $1,700.. i just bought a stall ($450) cam ($400) and springs ($250) for my VMax.. i'd put that little extra money into re-doing your exhaust with the longtubes.. that 6.0 loves to breathe, so let it.. i love my truck, should be putting everything in plus injectors in a week or 2...

This thread looks familiar...

The cutout wont help power any unless you have the stock muffler or something, but it will make it much louder.

It can most definitely be done for that cost. And your exact needs can be met with a cam as well.

I have a custom spec cam which is 219/227 114+3 , springs are .650" lift beehive, and 3200 stall from circle d.. If i were you, I would consult with someone to get a custom spec specific for your truck.. The best cam for your truck won't necessarily be the best for mine cause there's so many variables that effect a cam.. Like what size tires your running and what gears you have and so on and so forth.. But if you wanted to go with the off the shelf cam kit then BTR's stage 3 truck cam is a good one, my buddy just got one

LPE GT2-3 with gears/stall to move those big tires. Could always go FI later on top of it...
