Default cam help

how would that tr 220 be with a stock converter, 373 gear and in a 5.7 motor? I was also looking at the comp cam 224/224 on a 114 center I'm going to stick with the stock verter and then change it before I get the truck tuned about a month or so after.

I'd go with the tr220 if you weren't going to change converters or get a tune. If you plan on a tune and larger converter and want more aggressive, go with the tr224. My current cam is smaller than the tr220 and it runs pretty well in my 6 liter. But without tuning, my truck didn't like the cam. The 03+ electric throttle trucks need a tune after a cam swap more than the older trucks do.

I hope so I will have my LS1 5.7 with a 224 112lsa ported heads motor in this weekend. All I have is a little yank 3000 stall. If the truck intake doesn't like it I think you can convert to a LS6 intake but it is a pain.
