Default Cam and heads

I am currently rebuilding my 2007 chevy silverado 5.3l and was wondering what yall think of running a. 585 283/286 cam? I am also stage 2 porting the heads, how much total hp should I gain? Thnx

Not sure what your goals are, but that's a fairly big cam, for a 5.3 engine. The listed advertised duration specs are equivalent to 228/230 @ .050" lift.

I need more info. Gears? Weight? Headers? Truck use. Stall? That's a large cam for most. Without all the supporting mods it will be unbearable in most situations
