Default Cam + head recommendations

Hey,
Haven't been on for a while. So, I'm not up on the latest. Looking for some good cam + head recommendations for an 02 LQ4. Hoping to get as close to 500 hp and still be a daily driver. Any suggestions? Or maybe some threads I should look at?

Any suggestions would be awesome and appreciated.

Thanks!!

Ah yeah, I should have mentioned. 2200 stall, 3.73 rear.

Just have fun with it. Looking for good lobe, good torque for daily driving and as close to 500 HP as I can.

I don't really have a budget either. So, not too concerned w/ price.

Are you going to run 93 all the time? 500 is a lofty goal for a 6.0 with a small enough cam to use a 2200 stall. What do you plan to do with it?

like Standard cab to take to the track or crew cab that’s a daily and you tow with? Is this the 99 rcsb in your sig?

Make it a 402 or 408 stroker and 500hp should be easy.

500hp is not going to happen with a mild camshaft, maybe ~400whp with some decent heads.

Or with no budget just slap a blower on it.

Yep, its a 99 RCSB daily driver. I don't tow much (waverunners). What do you think are some realistic power #'s? 93 octane is fine. I do want some good lobe though. Its got to sound good! I'm okay with going bigger on the stall if need be. I'm open to all ideas.

It has a 4.8 in now. Am I correct in saying that has the 706 heads in it? Are those the heads to use these days?

Thanks man.

I think I'd be okay with 400whp. I'll go forced induction if not.

A mild cam and some boost would get you a lot further once you consider all the supporting mods to make good NA power.

Cam, springs, pushrods, headers, heads, related gaskets, tune, injectors, bolts or studs for heads.

Or keep your stall and run a blower or turbo at 6psi and make more power. And a shitload more torque.

Not trying to discourage you, just making sure you’re considering all the options

No worries. I have the 6 I want to get in there to enjoy for a while. The 4.8 has the 706 heads already if I'm not mistaken. So, I can swap those over (if it would help) with some new springs. Is there a stall sweet spot where I can have some fun with a cam + heads and still be a decent daily driver? What are some realistic #s I should be shooting for?
