if you are wanting all out performance and are going to get a 3000 stall then i say the tr220. i wanted a small cam for power but i still wanted it to be very streetable since it is my only vehicle and i do go on trips in it.

overlap is needed for NA cars for exhuast scavaging. Other wise you wont be running very efficently because you cant get the exhuast out and it will just be mixing with the intake charge, heating it up and so on and so forth.

So it is the LSA and not the over lap that makes the lope right? For instance a 220/220 112 would lope more than a 218/229 113. Is this right? If so whats the reason for the seperation? Thanks, i'm lost on this one.

yes it will, but the overlap is needed. The intake charge will "push out" or "force out" residual exhuast charge. It is important because remaining charge will be both inert and VERY VERY hot.

FI cars dont need this so much because they are running at such high pressures that the exhuast practically blows out of there on its own when the valve opens up.

It also produces more of a desriable powerband (more peaky)

So is my cam good, or would i be better off with something like a 231/237 112? I have the TR224 114 in my car and with the idle set at 900rpms you can hardly tell it has a cam, even with the Loud mouth and no cats.

i beg to differ on the lsa deal. we do need it if we are na. a 112 lsa is a good cam for the fi.if you are going to saty na then go to a 112 lsa. but this is going to be a mean cam. it depends on what you want. do you want all out perfomance. or do you want to be very streetable. then go to a 114.

so a 218/222 with 112 lsa would be better than a TR220 112 lsa for me? and dosent a lower lsa bring the power band down some?

02Denali you say 'mean' as in powerful and lopy?
