If so you don't know what you are talking about! They have have to have the lobe(if they have it then you can get it cut). They don't just punch the specs in a computer and presto the cam is done. They are made with keys (originals that are traced). Comp cams told me that a master is 500 on top of the cost of the cam.

man, why do people always talk da smack lately? talkin like i DONT know everything SHEESHH...
oh yah, btw, here is a quote from MTI's website. Do they know what they are talking about?
Lets not kill this thread already though, its a valid thread and has alot of usefull information that could come out of it. If you have anything else you wanna say about it PM or Email it to me.
"MTI LS1/LS6 camshafts are developed at MTI and ground to our exact specification. They are designed for maximum power output and best drivability. Our billet steel cams incorporate our fast ramp design and are generally worth 25-30 hp in most applications. The famous B1, C1, & T1 cams can be successfully used with stock cylinder heads when accompanied with our valve train upgrade package. Vehicles equipped with automatic transmission will require a higher idle speed through custom PCM programming (see LS1 Computer section). MTI can also have any cam specs custom ordered at no additional charge. Contact us at (281) 870-8787 with your own custom specs!"

MTI cams are made by comp cams. Comp cams charge 500 to make a master if they don't have the lobe. I don't think MTI will do it unless the are going to produce the cam. If they do that is great.

Greg is high if he is talkin about puttin a B1 in his 4.8 truck. This must be for his "extra" motor that has melted pistons.
I have talked to several companies lately about getting a custom cam. Speedtek told me to sit down and work up the specs and they would have comp grind me what I wanted. This was quoted in the $4xx price range. No mention of $500 fee.
From another thread-

quote:
Originally posted by Trevor D: ...Something along the lines of a 206/212 on a 112 LSA would probably be pretty nice in a 4.8L. ... FYI, we can get any cam custom-ground from Comp Cams and have it in about a week.

Trevor works for LG. That cam hes talking about 206-212 isn't any stock cam. Think LG is gonna eat a $500 setup charge? nope! Maybe Trevor will see this and post up the truth.

But if the lobe you want is not one that they have there is a 500 charge to make it. That is the info given to me from Compcams. I am not saying you can't make up your own specs for a cam, just make sure they have the lobe.

**** greg, i say go for it. i may still be partial to the 112 but with a 32-3500 stall it shouldnt be too bad
like you said, with heads and a TC whats the worse that can happen... if all else fails you can just give it some of that extra "umph" you have sittin around to get you off the line and shift at like 6500 JUUU CAN DUUUUU IT!
