Cam finally in, but issues.

I thought I was going to start on the teardown Friday night but didnt start till Saturday morning. From 7:30 in the morning till about 9 I was doing just fine, done with the tear down except minor things. When I went to break the crank bolt free I broke a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter and had to go to the store looking for another one. Couldnt find one so I just bought a 1/2" drive breaker bar instead of the 3/4" drive with an adapter. Couldnt get it to budge because I forgot to get a pipe to help with leverage. Waited around for about an hour while a buddy was on his way with a pipe. Got the crank bolt free then started with a puller but it wasn't big enough so I went and got another one. Got the new one on and pulley came out about 1/8th of an inch and then starts getting REALLY hard to get it to move. All of a sudden, BAM one of the lips that you put the crank pulley on breaks off and I now have no way to get the pulley out. Hassled with trying to get the pulley off till about 4 that day and then called it a day. Started sunday morning about 9 again with the pulley and took about 2 hours and got it off. 30 minutes later the cam was out and the new one was in but it took me a good hour or more to get the dots lined up perfect. Then started on the springs and the first 4 were easy now I am on the number 8 piston and the tool I am using looks like it is not going to work on the very back piston because it doesnt have enough room. So I called it a day again around 4 because we had a dinner to go to at 5:50 so thats where I am right now. Stuck again with a quarter of the springs done, hopefully I can leave work early today to try and get the truck running by tonight.
btw cam is a 224/224 .581/.581 110

Sounds like my first time at it. Don't sweat it, just keep doing a little here and there. You'll get it. Couple questions...
What springs did you use?
Did you set it to 106 ICL or did you end up just putting it dot to dot @ 110*?

What are you going to do about tuning for that cam? It is going to lope nicely

Ended up going with a set of used 918s simply because I am still on a budget no matter how much I would not like to be on one, which also prevented me from buying an adjustable timing set so I installed it dot to dot so techinically it WILL have 4* advance until I get the timing set, I want to see what it does with the advance before hand anyways, then when I have extra money I will swap outt he timing set and take the advance away and see what happens.

How did you eventually take the crank pully off? Did you get another tool or did you beat on it? Did you pull out the whole font end or did you just remove the radiator and the grill? Keep with it, it'll be worth it.
Good luck.
Good luck.
