Default Cam f/ Vortec

I don't know much about the Chevy truck engines...

I have a friend that has a 2000 Chevy truck with a 5.3 Vortec in it.
He wants to know if a LS1 cam would fit in his engine.

thanks for the input

yes, their actually identical except the 5.3 is iron block. all the 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0 are all LSX engines. but you have to remember a truck needs a different power band to get it's heavy *** to move unlike the camaro and trans am's.
